I wonder what the house smells like? Just asking.

Probably like there was a family of skunks living there for some time.  :D

If you buy this, rent one of those police dogs for an hour to sniff the place out. That place probably has more stash spots than a '73 Buick coming across the Rio Grande.

I know little of the Dead's music, but Donald Fagen did a great rendition of "Shakedown Street" at a concert I attended last Saturday.

Here's a lofi bootleg.  Jon Herington at 1:15 or so...what a fantastic player that guy is!

Finally getting around to selling it? He's been dead for 15 years. The family must be hard up for cash.

I was wondering about that. The decor was not what I had expected from the king of the hippies.

Remember, he was an old, rich hippie!  I know for a fact that he wasn't adverse to luxury.

Denny...I bet you've been two a Dead Show or two...did you ever get a chance to meet Jerry?  He seems like a very laid back down to earth guy.  :-\

Now if they had a picture of the house in La Honda, CA.....that would be something. The Dead were known as the Warlocks back then; the house band for the Merry Pranksters, (think Ken Kesey) during the Acid Tests.

I believe JG died, while at a rehab clinic, on Aug 9, 1995 so it's doubtful he had a suitcase full of powder, pills or otherwise. If you are interested, pick up the book 'Stories Done' by Mikal Gilmore (brother of Gary Gilmore), and you'll get quite a history of the Dead (and some of Denny's other contemporaries ;D)

Yeah I looked it up. Thats why I deleted.

I think it was a little before he died that the police found him passed out in an old volvo or something. He had enough smack to go to jail for 10 years if I remember. May have been an OD.

I cant find anything on it.

Just dealing with a family member on smack and it gets me emotional. Im angry with all junkies.

Did you know when they did the autopsy they found among other things, a key, a bottle cap and a bowl screen.

I worked maybe 10 Dead shows...they'd only use a union crew.  I spoke with him a couple times while I was setting up their stage gear, but I didn't really "meet" him.
