Shipping From Canada For AHA/BJCP Sanctioned Competitions

Hi Community,

Is it legal for me to ship my homebrew from Canada to the United States? We have very few competitions up here in the North.

far from an expert but AFAIK it is illegal to ship homebrew to the US, i believe i saw some senior poaters here say so recently.
are you in ontario? ive been meaning to join my city's homebrew club, but their once monthly meeting schedule doesnt fit well with my schedule

Technically yes, but realistically no. This would be considered a commercial shipment which involves U.S. federal regulations. In addition, each state has their own regulations regarding shipping alcohol. For example, in my state of Georgia, alcohol must pass through a third party distributor. LSS, it’s not worth it.
