I'm an Advertising major doing some market research on Home Brewers and their online habits. If you could be so kind to answer some survey questions I would greatly appreciate it!  I did notice that AHA already did a survey so if you don't want to answer questions you already answered, feel free to jump to question 8.

A friend was interested and was being taught, I was just along for the ride. Hooked right away.

Because it interested me, and it interested me because: I like beer, cooking, making things that taste good, and a challenge; homebrewing caters to all of these.

Lots, but my primary goal is to be able to brew any beer that I can conceive - to accurately translate a mental picture of the beer and its characteristics into a recipe and final product.

-Forums at websites dedicated to brewing, to the extent that these constitute 'social media'.  Regarding social networking such as facebook and twitter, absolutely no connection/learning through these.

    c. Bi-Weekly (brew about 12 times a year on average, spend time kegging, cleaning, bottling during off weeks)

8) Why did you begin home brewing?
Brewed a kit a friend gave me from London.  After that I wanted to make beer that wasn't available in my local stores.  We had strange laws in Florida that prevented getting any beer that wasn't in a twelve ounce bottle.

Make good, consistent beer, win some awards, esp NHC
