I was offered a 15 gallon keg for 10 bucks but I'm not sure if it's something I will be able to use.  I only make 5 gallon batches so I certainly can't fill it.  It is a commercial keg.  If I wanted to put beer in it how would I clean it and/or fill it?  What else could I do with it?

Boil Kettle...or buy it for $10 and sell it to someone for $20-$30.

Just make sure the person you are getting it from has actual ownership of it.

Agreed, make sure they actually own it.  If you're getting it from a brewery I wouldn't plan on putting beer in it - if it was still good for that, they probably wouldn't be selling it.  I sometimes pick up kegs from people who obviously stole them, then return them.  Some places are reluctant to give you money back for a deposit if you don't have a receipt, but I know a guy who'll take them and return them to the distributor.  They pay him, he pays in me in beer (he owns a bottle/keg shop).  Win-win.

If it's legit, you can definitely turn it into a boil kettle or HLT.  Or make a grill or smoker out of it.

That stainless urinal idea is pretty cool, especially if it's a BMC keg.  Not only would it look unique, but it would have plenty of symbolism........

I posted a picture of a Budweiser keg urinal on Beer Advocate a couple of years ago and the Bro's deleted the thread within minutes saying it didn't advance the cause of beer or some similar nonsense.

It's the cheapest boil kettle you will ever gain access to.
Fifteen gallons ain't that big.
I build 10 gallons of water, every time I brew.
My 15 gallon kettle is perfect, for that.
I almost never have to worry about boil-overs, but it has come close.

Eat it, use it as a suppository, get your deposit back on it, burn it, bring it on a plane with you as carry on luggage, fit it in your cupholder, get hdtv reception, this list is silly.  The first question was better....

If you decide to take it- a keggle is the best choice unless you use sankey. Just be careful opening it since it can be quite dangerous. Think "spear". There's instructions for that and cutting the top on the web if not in this forum.
