I just sent this to Pabst Brewing Co

Hello,

As the craft specialty beer segment has taken storm over bland American mega-swill. You guys are poised to succeed if you bring back the "Original Recipes" that the "Real" Ballantines Brewery pre 1975 and before the original brewery was "drawn and quartered" If you could do that, using their methods to extract hop oils you guys would truly be in the "League of Kings" of beers and brewing.

Respectfully Submitted by
A humble beer aficionado,

Bob G.

I sent it here: http://ballantineale.com/footer/contact-us/

The subject that does not show here is Ballantine IPA and Burton Ale

If we all bugged them maybe just maybe........ ;)

I drank a lot of PBR but never anything pre 1978. I laud your courageous email to the company. May they see your wisdom and profit by it!

Cheers!

I remember watching baseball games on TV with my dad, when I was a kid, that were sponsored by Ballantine...

"Take a ring, and then another ring, and then another ring, now you've got three rings!
Ballantine! and now it's premium!
It's a very special class of beer!"

1950s/60s kitsch for sure.

My 11 year old son and I sing it when we're driving in the truck where no one can hear us.  We love it because it is sooo stupid!

Be glad this post has no volume!

I hope they take your letter seriously but I dont think they will. Pabst beer is s***ty and they get away with selling swill because they market it to hipster kids. Pabst "brewing" company doesnt even make their own beer. Its all contract brewed for them

Yup. They brew it here too. Drank loads of the cheap lager in the past. Shiver.

Pabst bought the Primo Beer name too.  Primo is all that one would expect from Pabst.  It's for people who want to be seen with a can of "Hawaiian" beer in their hand.

Would they take it more seriously if they started getting more letters to that effect? That's one of the strengths of an Association. If we leverage this forum & the AHA , possibly Zymurgy (with an article about homebrewing Ballantines), to get lots of people to write letters it might get their attention. Anyone want to spearhead that sort of effort?

Right on T, that's what I am trying to do. They have all the recipes and methods tucked away in their vaults. They have the money and the means of they thought it would be a viable income stream which, imho I think it would. Also Pabst handed the Ballantine XXX off to SAB/Miller to brew it for them. Hmm, APA(African Pale Ale).....a new category!!!  :D

Are you certain about that, Bob?  Pabst has changed hands quite a bit.  They may have that info around, but I wouldn't bet on it.
