Sorry Denny.  It was the sideburns that brought the Capt. to mind.   :-[

Dude, I'm flattered....The Cap't. was a childhood favorite.  I still have fond memories of Mr. Moose and the ping pong balls!  And I had a Bunny Rabbit puppet just like the one on the show!

and to think that capt kangaroo was special forces badass at one point...

Really? Is that how he arrived at the rank of captain. I remember captain kangaroo being on. When did that show end? 78?

Mister Green Jeans.

Around here there was a guy on TV called Captain Noah. ooooh on Sat afternoons there was Dr, Shock.I used to think Dr Shock and Captain Noah were the same man. Dr Shock put on monster movies. Remember Gene London? Was Rip Taylor on that show? What ever happened to Gene London?

Ron, why did you take down your clown face? Did you give up the side gig working kids parties?

That Capt Kangaroo pic is freaking me out

As compared to... say...  Jack Nicholson in a football helmet on the back of a chopper?

aw, come on ..... you both know that just ain't gonna happen
So says Mark Tumarkin, Killer of Dreams  :'(

Well, he was a Marine, but never saw combat.  His badassedness rests simply on him being a Marine (and don't get me wrong, that is plenty badass).  But maybe not proven as much as other Hollywood types like Charles Durning, David Niven, Jimmy Stewart, James Doohan, Lee Marvin, Oliver Stone, there's a long list.

And let's not forget Audie Murphy.   He became famous because he was a war hero, but still . . .

I liked it. Very evocative really...

Not frightened of clowns either, though I can see why people would be. I always thought Shakes the Clown was funny.

For clowns, I have to go with Homey D. Clown.  Got a problem with that?  I don't think so.

Thanks.

I have always been fascinated by clowns even until this day.  There's an element of surprise and cheer about them.
They have an entertaining quality as well.  A perfect avatar IMO.  8)

Obviously some of us are good looking enough to use our own pic whereas some of us need the bumper sticker style avatar.

This is true but I also think some folks just have plain old "stage fright"
