It's funny because I have been known to steal that line on occasion....and I always get a giggle.

That's awesome; when I use it I get blank stares

I think it has alot to do with the delivery.

;D True. I get the response I want from people in their thirties but not from anyone younger than that.

Obviously some of us are good looking enough to use our own pic...

This is true but I also think some folks just have plain old "stage fright"

I'm more like I am now than I was before.

Could be, personally I'm just saving you the trouble of having to see my ugly arse everytime I post.  Although I have noticed a couple white hairs on my head I'm not as old as my avatar would suggest; just 34.  My avatar is actually "dugout dick" as I think he best represents my ideology.

Very interesting!  What a cool guy.  I'd never heard of him until you brought him up.

I thought your avatar was a headshot of a wizard.

Kaimū as it was...

Kaimū was a small town in the Puna District on Island of Hawaiʻi that was completely destroyed by an eruptive flow of lava from the Kūpaʻianahā vent of the Kīlauea volcano in 1990. In Hawaiian, kai mū means "gathering [at the] sea" as to watch surfing. The lava flow that destroyed Kaimū and nearby Kalapana erupted from the southeast rift zone of Kīlauea.

Is that where the lava can be seen over the roads and stuff. Is it still flowing?

I still like my Don Ho idea better. Come on man, Tiny Bubbles?

Yes, the lava is still flowing across the road and into the ocean in Puna.  It is back in Kalapana again.  This eruption has been going nonstop since 1/3/1986.

Those tiny bubbles in lava are called vesicles.

I would love to see some lava flow. I heard a story about some artists that were pulling hot lava out and making sculptures with it. Never saw any of the art work. I imagine you have to work fast.

How bout this for an avatar?

My dad was a caddy master for several years at Pine Valley. He caddied for Jack Lord several times back in the 70's.

Did you know that the actor that played Danno was the son of Helen Hayes?

Awesome!  Go for it!  It's you!

And here all of this time I thought James MacArthur was part of the Swiss Family Robinson.

On a sad note, James MacArthur passed away on October 28 of this year.  He was very well liked here in the islands and will be missed.

They made note of that on the new Hawaii Five-0, making sure everyone remembered him as "the original Danno".
