Coldest April on record, with more rain already than we typically get all month.  We've had two days above 55 since Feb 1, compared with 26 by now last year.  Another fun fact from the article . . . 579+ different kinds of moss in Washington.

I don't know what the #$%& is going on around here. A week ago it hit 80F. Since then, it feels more like the start of winter than the end of it. Yesterday I woke up to snow on the ground, today 33F and pouring rain. I have a feeling it's going to be one of those years where it's winter one week and summer the next. Luckily, my hops (all 2nd year) are going nuts, despite it all. I already have them trained on their ropes.

I just noticed 2 schools in Iowa canceling evening activities and track meets because of snow and extremely cold temps this afternoon.  My wife and I sat at a softball game for 2 of our daughters last night in insulated coveralls and boots.   ???

The past 2 Sundays were 85+ deg.  It is shaping up to be a very strange year so far.

Mother Nature gave a token nod to Winter and Spring in our area. I wish she would send some rain our way.

Big time overcast but hopefully any rain'll hold off as our Golf League kicks off in little over an hour.

Another starry-starry night.  Amazing!

My night-blooming jasmine is going crazy too.  I planted one stick of it cut from a friend's jasmine bush 5 years ago.  Now it takes up the whole east side of my house.  When it blooms it fills the air with sweet scent for hundreds of yards in every direction.

Hawaii!!

Sitting in a lawn recliner out on the lanai, sipping on a "Good" (see the Martini thread).  The moon is nearly full, the sky is full of big billowy moonlit clouds, and there is a cool breeze, scented with night blooming jasmine, coming down from Mauna Loa.

Getting my internal clock ready to stay up overnight tomorrow night to run a batch of Very Old Dark Kilauea Ale under the full moon - and watch the final launch of Endeavor.

Rain since Thursday, and cold, in the 40's today. Supposedly tomorrow will be sunny.

We still haven't had rain since around September 20, but we do have lots of forest  fires.  Last week the geniuses predicted 20% chance of rain for yesterday, but there wasn't even a cloud.  We are supposed to have a very wet monsoon season-starting in July.
Today when I went to the office it was 46F and should be around 100 by mid afternoon.  And of course very sunny.

And windy? ;)

We had a nice front come through and got some rain (finally!) for a couple hours Wednesday. Then it was gone. All the plants just loved it! We'll be going into the rainy season too come June. Last three years we got practically nothing at all. This has been bad. Silver lining about the front is that it's only been in the 80's with a cool breeze during the afternoon and down in the 50's at night. Aaaaaah.
