Here in Des Moines it's supposed to 52F today and 56F on New Years Eve. 

It just doesn't seem like the holidays this year with it being so warm and the kids are bummed out because we have no snow.  New Years Eve is normally somewhere south on 15F.  52 degrees is "shorts and t-shirt" weather.

It's warm enough that one of my big maples out back is drawing sap back up and dripping sugar all over my deck.  I kind of like that tree and would hate to see it die when the real winter weather gets here.

Oh well, it was sure nice taking the outside lights down in a fall jacket instead of 3 layers of insulated clothes.

After recording the second wettest year in 150 recorded, Chicago is close to 50 today and winter temps have been averaging 15-20 degrees above normal! We have recorded less than 1/2 inch of snow to date with the trend continuing, I like and miss the snow but it sure makes brewing outside a continued treat!

We got maybe 1/4" last night. I can't believe I'm even counting that as snowfall. ;)

It is Englant to a T and is only going to get wetter through the night, here in Bury St Edmunds, England.   Nothing more of a downer when the weather is 100% rain and it is in the low 40's already. Maybe it will be a pub with a fireplace kind of night.

40F and cloudy today in NH, with a chance of rain or snow showers throughout the day.

Sunday for the Pats game it's going to be partly cloudy and 48...in January!!!  I'm in no way complaining about this however!!

Well, if I believe the weather channel it is 43 and partly cloudy.  But if I look at my thermometer it is 33, and if I look out the window it is snowing.

67 F,  a cool breeze scented with night blooming jasmine coming down off of Mauna Loa - a sky full of stars, Jupiter nearly staight up overhead, and a fingernail moon in the western sky.
