Sunny and 65 here in Oregon City. Perfect weather to marinade some steaks for this evening and make a starter for Sunday's Oktoberfest.

First tropical storm of the season is passing by today.  Had to bring in the patio furniture.  Glad I didn't plan on brewing today because the wind would suck!

98 degrees in my garage.  i have a scottish something or other fermenting in a styrofoam cooler.  the 2gallon bucket is surrounded by foam ice packs.  it is holding at just under 60 degrees. i am happy with it.  i change ice packs every 24 hours.

We are getting HAMMERED by a rainstorm.  I have my weather station set to alarm at an instantaneous rainfall rate of four inches per hour.  The rain gage has been in alarm for the last 10 minutes.

Not normal for this time of year, but not all that unusual either.  Pretty loud stuff on my metal roof!

I was just looking at the full moon not an hour ago...  Hawaii!

Another day of the temp pushing 100, and no rain or relief in sight.

It's getting hot really early this year.  You here complaints at the parade on the 4th when the temp hits 90-95.  This year it's going to be that by half way through and not stopping till 100+.  Another year of drought in Central Iowa.  No rain in the 7 day forecast again this week.

It is keeping my kids (life guards at the aquatic center this year) busy though.  Lots of people looking for ways to stay cool.

Hot with varying degrees of humidity.  We've been getting rain almost everyday.   Some of the storms have been quite destructive.  Trees down everywhere, a lot of folks still without power after four days and may not have it until the weekend.  Personally, I've been pretty lucky. I have one tree that's been hit by lightning three times. :o

Its been a few years since we got hit by a big nasty wind storm (knock on wood).  Glad to hear you're oka y and didn't sustain much damage.  Storms like those tend to make or break neighborhoods.  I've made some great friendships with people who wondered into my yard with saws and wheelbarrows and vice-versa after a storm.

Stay cool and help where you can.  You'll be paid back many times over (of course you know that already, you're a homebrewer).   ;D

I just got back to work after lunch.  It's 98 outside and no breeze.
