Usually there's some stupid wind or rain storm that brings all the leaves down right around now or before...

I am thinking it is headed your way right now. :o

3 inches on the porch this morning; got out the snow shovel.
Will not be long and I will be making turns on it!  Yeehooo.

The heavy weather brought snow to the summit of Mauna Loa. No snow on the summit of Mauna Kea only 25 miles away.   Weird...

Today both Maunas have snow on their summits.

Holy cow that blizzard! That drive home for me sucked! The snow blew at my from the
right passenger headlight as I drove. I kept it slow, well below 25 or 20 MPH. I have no
street lights to help light the way. Visibility was about 10 feet. Because of the direction
of the snow, I kept correcting thinking I was driving at an angle. Zigzagged my way home
left lane, right lane, left lane, right....Ugh.

The 4"/hour rain intensity alarm on my weather station is sounding again.  Makahiki has arrived, and with it the monsoon rains.  I love it!

Yesterday's high was around 90F, tomorrow's low will be mid 20's.
I'd really just rather be brewing in sunny Carlsbad New Mexico

The clouds have parted and there is a big honkin full moon shining down on me and my jar of white dog...

Fall has finally arrived in South Central Iowa.  Just in time for it to start snowing in NW Iowa.  Rainy and dark out at 10:20 AM.  It started raining last night about 6:00 and is supposed to continue through Wednesday.

Ya gotta love Iowa weather.

I'm just happy to get a decent rain as we haven't had any of note here in Des Moines for over 1.5 months.

Where the heck are we going?  And what's with this hand basket?

We finally passed the 2 inch mark for the past 14 months-even here in the desert Southwest that's an incredible dry spell and not supposed to change this winter.
Today my computer lied to me and said it was 30F outside so I wore long pants to work.  I head for the car and it's only low 40's, that's still shorts weather.  I'll have to change on my lunch hour.

Got a smattering of rain before lunchtime. Been bone dry sine the last cloud burst that swept through about a month ago. Blessing is that the heat is gone so the plants can handle a lack of moisture more readily. Haven't had to water the grass since Sept.

Otherwise it's puuurfect!

We are getting hammered here in Puna.  Several inches of rain since sunrise, lot of lightning & thunder, rain fade signal loss on DirecTV (the one big drawback to DirecTV).  Haven't seen the cats for hours, except Hebert.  He's lying right here on my lap, unfazed by all the rumbling.   :)

Now we've lost DSL and land lines.  Guess that means local grid power is out. Still able to connect via 3G.

Lightning is striking so close the grounding straps on my house wiring sizzle with each strike.  Now THAT'S danger close!  This is like being on the receiving end of an artillery barrage.  Lucking thing I learned how to duck and cover back in elementary school!

WTF?  It's mid November, 9PM and we had to turn the AC back on.  It was hot and windy all day.  I got up early (6 AM) to start brewing and it was already 68F outside.
