I have gotten a SG reading of 1.023 for 3 consecutive days now. I also popped the top off and there was no Krauesen on top of the wort. Today completed day 5 of fermentation. Is it possible that the fermentation is complete? It seems recipes I have found similar to this one have a final SG of around 1.017.
1.023 seems a little high but probably within the expected range. Especially considering your recipe is extract which is less fermentable.
Something you should try is calibrating your hydrometer. Bascially, just see what your hydrometer reads in distilled water - it should read 1.000. If it's off (both of mine are .003 high), that could explain things.
