As a matter of fact, yes.

What do you do again?

All that crap they sell on TV, I take the orders for. From indoor turkey fries, Magic Bullet Blender, the Shaark stem vac, adult diapers, diabites supplies, penis pumps, the Scooter store, Life Alert, life insurance, you name it, I take the order for it. If you call any 800# from tv, there is a good chance you'll get me.
As far as getting bored, it's not an issue. I work my own schedule. Work a couple hours, go kick the dog, play with the samauri, go back and work a little, go in and do some cooking or grilling, Whatever. If I don't feel like working, I don't. If I decide I want a couple extra hours, I take em. If I want a week or two off, I take it. Maybe fly to Ohio, or go camping. This job is insane!!!

My only dislike is I tend to blush a little when I tell people what I do. I've been doing HVAC / sheetmetal since I was 15. Very physical, and "manly". I just sort of feel like I've been neutered with this job. (remember my old hot chocolate and blanket thread at NB) So, long as you guys think I can hold my head high, I FREAKING LOVE MY JOB!!

Can you get me a deal on a Flowbie and a Snuggie?   ;D

You know, those are about the only two things I can think of we don't handle. Snuggie is now sold in stores, and the Flowbie was so 1985!  ;D

I heard that the flowbie is great for trimmin up the old undercarriage. Its really hard with scissors and a hand held mirror.

Hey weaze, my wife wants to know about this job. Do they really need more people? Seems like a lot of people would be in line for this job. How can she apply?

Beer, its whats for dinner.

Cap I'm not a surgeon, though they often use me- other wise they end up with botched surgeries like the one in the radiograph. That's a "total elbow" prosthesis and all is not well. Shocking actually.
Ahh, that's why I couldn't put the pieces together right.

there was a line from an old western movie where the local marshal was losing his sight or something and felt demeaned by taking a job in a general store.  then another old marshal said "there is nothing wrong with any job, so long as its honest"

i started a boat cleaning business on lake erie when i was in high school.  should still be doing it.

weaz, my wife is looking for part time work.  That sounds like something she could do well, and it's flexible enough for her neurotic schedule.  You mentioned they were hiring, any thoughts on what she would do to talk to someone about it?

as for having a manly job, or the possibility of using a blanket being un-manly on the couch for that matter, well those things are not what makes a person a man.  peeing standing up makes you a male, but being a man just means you take care of your business.  It's not macho, it just means your not a child emotionally.  Your not, so quit nagging over it.   ;D

I say if you're happy with this job, why change?

A job that one enjoys is a very rare thing.

I know for a fact the RR schedule is BRUTAL...those guys can only legally go so long on the rails
then they go ded...then when that happens they wait for a relief crew to come...get em off the rails
then they wait till the next call...which usually is not that far off...and you are always on CALL...always
unless you are on vacation....

The other RR jobs are pretty noisy, hard physical labor laying ties, spiking down rail...bolting fishplates...

On the up side I think Engineers behind the throttle of a locomotive prolly drag in near 6 figure$ a year.

But man Be careful what you wish for
