Another Bluesman!  They're multiplying!

Welcome to the forum.

Thanks, tygo.  I was surprised to find other bluesmen here as well!

Nothing brewing, but Saturday evening I am taking my wife and son to Kilauea Lodge for dinner and then over to Hawaii Volcanoes Nation Park to see a special Christmas concert by HAPA at the Kilauea Military Camp theater.

If you are into contemporary Hawaiian music HAPA is about as good as it gets.  Barry Flanagan is an amazing guitarist.  The KMC theater is a small venue and a great place to go for Hawaiian music concerts.  The park is at about 4000 ft. so winter evenings get down into the low 40s - high 30s.

Woo hoo!  - Mele Kalikimaka!

Sorry for quoting myself.

We had a night that we will remember for a long time.  Definetly a magical Christmas experience.  HAPA was even better than expected... Amazing!

I'm brewing a sweet stout this weekend in memory of a friend who passed away on Monday.

My condolences. The brewing process is very reflective, and is an ancient form of creation -- a great way to remember someone.

We had a lot of holiday stuff this weekend -- family visits, an open house, and lots of baking and cleaning. Plus our old tabby cat had been in rapid decline for several weeks. Today she went on to the great cat pillow in the sky. I am very fortunate in having a holiday break (12/24 - 1/3) and am going to brew something in her honor.

Just bottled up my first mocha porter.  Went a little wild with the coffee but the month rest with the cacao nibs seemed to tame it down a bit.  Really nice aroma though.  We'll see what it's like with some carbonation.

I pulled the first 3gal out of my wild beer solera (11gal oak barrel) today and will bottle it tomorrow.  That beer is just 9 months old but pretty tasty.  I refilled the barrel with some beer fermented with Roeselare.  This Sunday I'm going to keg a German pils and use the yeast cake to brew an Octoberfest.
