1) To finish the brewcart project that stalled out several times in 2010 due to a busy year of work and family activities.

2) To take the BJCP exam again and score at least Certified.  I missed it by just a few points on my first try this year, so I'm now Recognized.

3) To try brewing a Flanders Red, and maybe try making some Mead.
...it's liquid bread, it's good for you!

My goals:

1.  Brew enough to keep my kegerator fully stocked (we go through beer faster than when I was bottling).

2.  Experiment with Belgians (finally brewed my first one on November).

3.  Get more consistent with my brewhouse efficiency.
So good once it hits your lips!

Brew different beers and establish some new styles. I'm tired of the old ones. :D

I want to brew to hit my personal quota (100 gal), and nail down 1-2 more "house ales."

Share more homebrew, and spread the gospel of craft beer.

I'm teaching a beginning brewing class in January so that will be a good start!

Finally brew some lagers.

1. put together my kegerator (have all of the parts just sitting there) by January 31st.  And keep it full/clean.
2. Brew 12 or more times this year.
3. Reduce brewing time and mistakes by better organization of brew day.
4. No failures because of stupidity (discovering that you forgot to clean your only transfering hose during last session on a Sunday when brewstores are already closed)....see #3.
5 Drink less commercial beer.....unless it is locally made.
6. Buy American.
7. Brew with more other people (I have never brewed with anyone that was more experienced than I)
8. Investigate local homebrew clubs....any suggestions in Denver?
You wouldn't believe the things I've seen...

I want to get my process nailed down. I'm a little ADD so if I dont stay focused, I can be all over the place.
I want to learn more about recipe development so I can finally create something of my own instead of just following one of someone else's recipes. I've developed a couple recipes this last year but they turned out mediocre at best.
I want to brew with someone who has a great deal of brewing knowledge. I've only brewed with myself and those I've taught. I have a lot to learn.
I want to get my House Ales consistent. Build my Stable of 5-6 go to beers that are always in rotation.
I want to brew a Cider for my wife that I'm proud of.
I want to brew more often. I typically brew once a month. I'd like to bump that up to once every 2-3 weeks.
I'd like to get into re using yeast.
At the end of the day, I just want to make better beer every time I brew. I want to learn more and turn a few new people on to the craft.

I brewed only Belgian styles for all of 2010. I learned a lot, but don't think I would restrict myself that much again. Goal for 2011 is to learn the gory details of fine-tuning water chemistry.

Planning to spend effort getting our new club established. Would love to build a brew stand to reduce my brewing time (cause it takes 47 trips to move stuff into position), but I'm told (by my daughter) that I need to cut down on my brew activities because she's getting married later this year and I need to work on the house - can you believe that? Ok, so the house does need some stuff done to it... maybe I can hire out for that. She also told me I need to sell my sports car to pay for the wedding - not gonna happen.

So then, I need to have some beers for NHC and to bring to club night, right? And then, folks coming from out of town for the wedding will be thirsty, so there's more brewing (even though 90% of them will probably drink bud light, or wine).

As far as what to brew, I am guilty of sticking too much to the same cycle of american ales, so I need to venture into Belgians and English styles. Lagers? maybe, but not a priority.

1) As always, I hope to keep myself and my guests in beer - 6 or 7 batches.  However, I'm really hoping a move screws up my brewing schedule  ;)

2) For projects, I've got an itch to motorize my Crankandstein.  I think I'll scratch at that a bit

3) Start building a keg set up???

Brew and drink a little less (brewed too much last year).

Buy less commercial (part of the reason I brewed too much  ;) )

Brew an Altbier (last one I made was 2000 gallons ago  :( )

Score at least National on BJCP exam in August.

Try decoction again.

This year, I'd like to think 6 month ahead so that I don't end up with Winter Lagers and IPA's and Summer Barley wines.
I'd like my dogs to stop eating my hop bines. I'd like to come up yet with more crazy inventions. What a great hobby. :D
