Brew and drink a little less (brewed too much last year).

Buy less commercial (part of the reason I brewed too much  ;) )

Brew an Altbier (last one I made was 2000 gallons ago  :( )

Score at least National on BJCP exam in August.

Try decoction again.

I made a belgian wit this past weekend and did a single decoction. While everything seemed to go OK... I don't think I will be doing it again for a while.

...try to brew at least once a month which will keep me at 2010's pace
...try to go to a group brew with the local club - darn work in 2010 kept me away
...enter a few more beers into comp (only 3 in 2010) - starting off with the MCAB XIII even though that's carry over from 2010
...hit up a few more brewpubs/micros that I haven't been to.

My primary goal for this year is to pull of the Saison talk for the NHC.

I'm doing the primary test batch on the 17th. Only have to brew about 70 gallons for that! (Fortunately, Eagle Rock Brewing is helping me out there)

Try and tweak my German pils to near perfection.

Formulate a great AIPA.

Get a couple more entries to make the Final Round of the NHC and medal this time! Entered 3 last year, 2 got to finals! Hope to enter 10-12 this year. Would be estatic to see half of them advance. Determined to medal my APA!!

Another goal is to get to the conference in San Diego. Last year's was my first, but I live in Minnesota so attendance was a given!

2010 was a big year for me.  I started homebrewing in February.  Made a few batches (kits, of course) for my wedding in August.  Bought a ton of equipment and gadgets (I'm an engineer/tech geek kinda guy).  Joined the local Homebrew club.  And, I just recently found this place.

For 2011, I'd like to concentrate on the process.  I have done okay with it, but there is definitely room for improvement.  By the end of the year I'd like to understand enough about the process and ingredients so I can begin formulating my own recipes.

To get my efficiency up to 109%. ;)  Seriously, still after the elusive German beer taste (you know the one, no other lagers have it.)  Getting closer, but not quite there.
Me too man.  I just can't get that taste.  I guess my goal will be the same as prior years.
