Not quite off topic...
« on: December 30, 2010, 09:43:41 pm »
I am putting this here because it is relevant to most homebrewers at some point...

Some may know I just purchased my wife Moonbeam a coffee roaster! After her roasting a half pound to a tad past full city, setting off six chained smoke alarms in the house, bellowing with smoke, I finally got to use the line that most of us brewers have heard many times. I turned to her and said...

Honey, this is going to be an outside activity from now on!

Ain't payback fun sometimes. :D

I was never "sent" outside to brew, but I got the impression that I should and I did.

That coffee bean smoke reeks something awful. I moved my operations outside immediately.

Wise move.

Reminds me of the time I tried to dry home-grown hot peppers in a food dehydrator.  Ever seen how they do gas mask training of soldiers by filling a room with tear gas?
Primary: gotlandsdricke/alt/dunkel hybrid
Secondary: pale barleywine,
Bottled:  Gotlandsdricke
               Oatmeal/blackberry stout
               Honey Kolsch

I had a vision of things to come and didn't even try it in the house. Fortunately I have a workshop suited for the purpose....... she opened the door, took one whiff and slammed the door shut......
