Replace High pressure gage with shut-off
« on: January 05, 2011, 08:18:52 pm »
Can I take the high pressure gauge off my CO2 regulator and replace it with a shut off valve or nipple?

I have the Cornelius Dual Gauge Regulator w/ 5/16" Barbed Shutoff Valve from Midwest (http://www.midwestsupplies.com/cornelius-dual-gauge-regulator-w-5-16-barbed-shutoff-valve.html) and want to put a shut off valve or nipple/5/16" barb in its place, then run a hose to a 5 secondary bank and add the High pressure gauge to it. (this is the secondary bank I am looking at: http://stores.kegconnection.com/Detail.bok?no=471)
From what I can tell everything is right hand thread.

Thanks!

You will need high pressure hose.

It would be much easier to just connect the low pressure gauge from the primary regulator to the input on the secondary regulator bank.  Dial the primary low pressure gauge up to whatever is higher than you want from your secondary regulators, and you're done.  Easy peasy.

This is the way to go. Also, check the max psi for the secondary regulators. I have one that says don't exceed 200 psi, so it wouldn't work being hooked up to the high pressure side. Ask me how I know that...  :-[

Maybe I am trying to get to fancy. I want 6 secondary, 5 to go inside the kegerator and one to use on the outside for misc needs (pressure testing, bottling, etc). I think I will probably get this http://stores.kegconnection.com/Detail.bok?no=477 and http://stores.kegconnection.com/Detail.bok?no=291 and save the current regulator for another application.

Thank you for your replies!
