Pliny the Younger
« on: February 03, 2011, 02:49:52 pm »
I'm new to the site but what little looking I've done, i've noticed a lot of talk about Pliny from Russian River Brewery. I am a very lucky fellow that lives about 5 minutes from the place, so i go there now and again. anyways once a year in February they make a very small batch of triple IPA called Pliny the Younger. they give it to you in a 10 ounce glass, you can't buy it in a growler and it has such a strong alcohol content that they will only sell you two glasses in one sitting. it is so popular that it lasts about two weeks.
From their site:
11.0%ABV, 1.098 O.G, GOBS of BUs
Pliny the Younger was Pliny the Elder's nephew, in the case of this beer, the "Younger" is a triple IPA. Pliny the Younger is hopped three times more than our standard IPA, and is dry hopped four different times.

so for the locals, just a heads up that it will be out on Feb. 4th and for the rest of you, I'll have one for the both of us... or two...
