Looks like Walgreens has come out with their own brand of beer...
http://beernews.org/2011/01/walgreens-releases-new-beer-at-3-a-6-pack/
It appears to be a rebranded Genesee?

I'm thinking I might have to stop by & drop $3.00 for a 6-pack just to see. I've blown 3 bucks on worse things, I think...
Cheers!!!

Looks like the "how low can you go" thread might be revived. Report back. "Six-row barley malt, corn grits, hops from Yakima Valley and bottom fermenting yeast," mmmm the recipe for good ole "american" beer.

awesome - can't wait to get a hold of some of that and try it. Really, I will!
Will probably be better than Corona because it's in cans, so no skunking.

I picked up a 6-pack on the way home tonight. What's it like? I'm no BJCP judge but I'd say it was a pretty good beer for the style, and especially the price! I almost cracked another one but pulled a draft of my American Lager to compare. It's a toss up, no kidding! Here are a few pics.. Cheers!!!

I saw this about a month ago at Walgreen's as well. If it really is rebranded Genese Cream Ale it can't be all that bad. I have fond memories of stealing my dad's Genny Cream Ale out of the case or two he always kept in the basement, usually drinking it at cellar temps out of the bottle in two or three quick gulps. Ahhhh nostalgia....

I had my wife pick up a sixer last night when she went to Walgreens to pick up a prescription. For 3 bucks, I have to say it's not bad. It kind of reminds me of a cleaner version of Old Style circa 1988.

My first thought when I saw the pictures was "Wow, there's almost no color!" I wonder if it will ever make it Iowa. I'll have to take a look at Walgreen's on the way home one of these days.
