La Trappe/Koningshoeven yeast
« on: February 02, 2011, 04:23:12 pm »
I would like to culture yeast from the La Trappe tripel, but I don't know if the yeast in ther bottle is the same used for fermentation, or if they use a different yeast to bottle condition.  I emailed them over a week ago, to no response (yet).  Does anyone know?  Thanks...

I don't think too many idiosyncratic low country breweries really use a special bottling strain. Go for it.

Sounds like a good question to submit to this months' "Ask the Experts" (http://www.homebrewersassociation.org/forum/index.php?topic=5827.0).  The expert is the author of "Brew Like a Monk" so odds are good he'd have some ideas.
