The one thing that always strikes me about that job is the stress.

But if we had a picture of Denny from 8 years ago to compare to his present picture, would we conclude that homebrewing ages you? Or does it make you younger?

The Winkie Country is a division of the fictional Land of Oz. It is distinguished by the color yellow; this color is worn by most of the local inhabitants and predominates in the surroundings.

This whole thing is really cool, and if an AHA rally at the White House were possible, in this or ANY presidential administration, I would hope that we'd be grownup enough to set aside differences and flock to an AHA rally at the White House regardless of our political affiliation. That's a big part of the joy of homebrew: it brings us together under the common banner of our love of homemade beer.

As I wrote on Twitter a few months back when a "homebrew buddy" and I were disagreeing on a political point, "We may not agree about everything, but we can agree that malted barley wants to become beer."

I hear ya.  My best "homebrew buddy" is on the opposite side of the isle as myself.  And we get into from time to time, but beer is always beer.

I sent the white house an email a day or two after I read this story.  I asked if I could get the chef's contact to try and get the recipe, and maybe see if he would want to go on the BN or the AHA for a quick interview.  Maybe I'll hear back...ya never know!
