Yards Brewing "Ales of the Revolution"
« on: February 22, 2011, 12:18:01 am »
Anybody tried these? http://www.seriouseats.com/2011/02/beer-for-presidents-day-ales-of-the-revolution-yards-brewing-george-washington-thomas-jefferson.html

They sound great - I remember the topic after the WH super bowl beer which referenced the Washington small beer, looks like they actually made it. Neat!

I asked my brother to get me some and save it for when I see him in September.  I hope he can come through . . .

Thanks for the link, cool article.

I had them back in 2004. Tavern Porter was very, very good, Spruce was meh (and one I noted I did not want to have again), Thomas Jefferson was solid. Keep in mind it has been 7 years so things could have changed...

I have GOT to taste all three of these.  Wow.  Awesome.  Even if they deviated from the original recipes, I don't care.  I just want to try something similar to what *might* have been consumed 240 years ago.

Haven't tried them yet but I just checked one of our local beer stores and it looks like they carry all three.  Might have to make a run here soon.

Ok, popped by the local Total Wine and picked up a sixer of George's and a sixer of T.J.'s.  They were out of the Spruce one.  Haven't tried either of the ones I did pick up yet.
