Coleman Extreme 70qt cooler, how do I take out the spigot?
« on: February 17, 2011, 07:11:44 pm »
I just got a Coleman Extreme 70qt cooler and can't figure out how to remove the spigot that came with the cooler. It isn't like most coolers that are pretty easily taken apart. Is there some tool I need?

I'm familiar with how things unscrew. This one has different connections than any other cooler I've seen before, that is what I was looking to clarify. Although I just figured it out so I'm good to go.

Depends if it is green or blue...

IIRC it took an adjustable wrench to loosen it up.

You really don't have to take out the drain if you set it up this way...  Cheers!!!

This seems super simple.  I pulled the spigot out of mine and put in a ball valve.....mostly because I enjoy building things ;)

Another advantage to this set up is if you want to use the cooler as a cooler it takes < a minute to convert it back. Plus I have a 48 quart coleman cooler with the same drain that I can use for 5 gallon batches. It just gives me many more options.  Cheers!!!
