I caught you a deliciuos bass.
« on: February 21, 2011, 08:20:15 pm »
Well, Steel head, actually. Went on a 4 day man trip to Orifino, Idaho steel head fishing, with three buddies. It was absolutly amazing! I have never seen country that pretty in all my life. The place is infested with bald eagles. As I was fishing, I counted no less than 8 one morning, all dive bombing the river, catching their breakfast. It's really strange the places you find yourself in life. If you would have told me 15 years ago, I would be fishing for steelhead, on a river in BF Idaho, with three of the best dudes I've ever had the pleasure of meeting, in the most beautiful country in the united States, I would have said you are smoking crack. This weekend, it happened. You all know how pissed I was to have to move here, but honestly, now I'm mad I didn;t do it years ago. This is the best thing to happen to my life, since the day I married Holly. With our living situation now, we have it figgured for me to go to Ohio every six weeks to work in sheet metal, and HVAC for two weeks. In that time, I'll make enough $ to last us till the next trip. When I'm home for the six, I got nothing to do but kick back, and love life. Almost like i'm retired early!  We're never going to be rich, but the bills are paid, and neither of us has ever been so happy, and stress / worry free. I LOVE MY LIFE!!

This was my first Steelhead. He was pushing 20#. Took me a good 10 mins to land him, as the rod / reel set up I was using sucked big time! A new one is in order for next trip.

Hey Weaz...nice looking fish and scenery.

Sounds like things are starting to work out for you in Idaho. Glad to hear it.

When's the first tentatively scheduled brewday.

I'm so jealous. I was gonna say more, but I think jealous (and really happy for you) is the best way to sum it up. I wish I had friends like that!

I'm jealous, but at least I'm going fishing at the weekend, so might catch up. Doubt I'm going to bag anything that big though.
