maybe it's just us old folks, but I'm sure Denny will join me in raising a glass to Stanley Owsley, what about you.

To Owsley, he's a good old rounder but he's dead & gone

RIP my man. Never got to sample his wares but an older buddy of mine did. He says it was THE best!

WOW!  He designed the huge wall of amps and speakers that I saw at the Dead Concerts in 73-74.  Along with other things.

Owsley Stanley, seems the Old & In the Way aren't in the way anymore.  I think that leaves David and Peter.

I don't smoke anything, it makes my lungs hurt just thinking about it.  But on SNL this weekend, from Zach Galifianakis: "I smoke so much pot, sometimes I forget to smoke it".

They say if you remember the 60s you weren't there, but I do recall sampling Owsley's work.  He changed the course of life for many of us.

Sounds like he was the perfect fit for the GD. I never knew of him until now but it sounds like he was an interesting character for sure. I am a music lover at heart and I have some GD in the rotation on my ipod so this hits a nerve for me.

I think the death of Jerry Garcia was the fatal blow for the band. Sadly missed he is.

The big band in the sky just got their soundman. I caught the tail end of the GD comet but I still saw some great shows. We have something in common with Owsley. He insisted on making his own stuff. So do we! Different stuff, but same idea.
Prost!
