One more thing . . . my twins turn 6 today ;D  They were very excited, not just because of the presents but because they got to pick a lot of stuff that they usually have little or no control over.  They had pancakes and poached eggs on toast for breakfast, I drove them to school instead of them taking the bus, they're having fudgsicles and fruit-sicles at school, they'll take the bus home instead of going to the after school program at taekwondo, we'll have pizza and macaroni and cheese with a crust on top for dinner, and if I can find it we're going to watch Megamind tonight.  I think I'll meet them at the bus stop with balloons. :)  Very fun, happy day.

It really is great to see all of the positive stuff going on in people's lives.

Awesome.

And after all that you're going to need a beer!

IMHO. Being a dad is the coolest thing in the world.  You are a great dad Tom!  Happy Birthday to your lucky twins.  Sounds like an awesome day in the works!

Getting the OR homebrew law passed certainly calls for a beer!

Hmm... I can think of a couple things:
I'm coming upon a year of having a decent job that I enjoy after being without for about 2.5 years.

I live in Belgium.

Thanks, I think you're right, being a dad is pretty awesome for me.  There's only a little bit of jealousy towards my friends who have no kids and jet off on vacation at the drop of a hat. :)

Well, just to make you feel better, we have no kids and our only vacation in the last 5 years was 2 days at the coast last Aug.

well if we are taking in to account child rearing.  both my son's are eagle scouts.  they both are in NROTC at ohio state and are engineering majors.  The oldest will be graduating soon and off to pensacola for flight school (he has the common sense to stay off submarines)  and my daughter is a fantastic pitcher.   :D

I'll drink to the fact that both my kids work for me and have earned their reputations as hard workers, not as the boss's kids.

If you're not careful you may end up with an astronaut in the family.

My oldest daughter is back from her chior trip the San Francisco as of 3:20 this morning.  She's fine and had a really great trip.  I'm happy to have her home safe and have the whole crew back in the house.  Our two college visits with my son went very well and he's starting to feel more confident in making those decisions.

I'm just happy to have great kids and to be alive to see them grow up.

Just had my annual performance review at work. Today I got a nice fat bonus for 2010 deposited in my bank account.  And starting April 4, I am getting a 3.5% raise.

I do believe its time for a pint of Guinness and a Jameson's on the rocks at my local.
