Fundraiser and Homebrew
« on: March 31, 2011, 03:21:13 pm »
All,

A friend and I have been kicking around the idea of doing a fundraiser for melanoma reserach and we discussed having some sort of a Brews and BBQ event.  As a melanoma survivor this is definitely something that I am keenly interested in.  I would most likely provide a lot of the homebrew and potentially tap the local homebrew club or homebrewers to help provide the brews.  Does anyone else have any experience with such an event?  If yes, I am curious to learn about any legal ramifications.  Particulalry, can you serve homebrew and ask for donations?  Donations would certainly be optional and not tied to the consumption of the homebrew.

Any guidance is greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

It all depends on your state and local laws.  You should consult a local lawyer.

Not that I'm aware of.  Sorry.
