NHC results question
« on: April 05, 2011, 07:45:51 am »
I may be just overlooking it, but I can't seem to find this info anywhere on the NHC page.

I'm not expecting to win, I really just wanted a professional's opinion.  Will I still get my score results if I'm not one of the top 3 and don't qualify for a certificate?  Are there comments on the score card that are included also?

You'll get your scoresheets ( or at least should ) regardless if you win or qualify for a certificate.  Some regions will get you sheets sooner than later depending on when the judging was.  NW just sent theirs yesterday.

I think most are on the calendar:

http://www.homebrewersassociation.org/pages/events/calendar

but it's not too easy to read.

Hi Green Dragon,

As with any AHA/BJCP Sanctioned Competition, you will receive score sheets from the First Round NHC competition within 1 to 2 weeks of the competition completion.  The comments on the score sheets should give you good feedback about your beer and perhaps suggestions about how to improve it.  Even if your entry does not qualify for a ribbon or a certificate, you will still receive a letter from the AHA.  This feedback will be sent in mid-May by me.

If you have any questions about the competition, you can look in the Homebrew Competition board which is a child board under Events:http://www.homebrewersassociation.org/forum/index.php?board=23.0.  If you don't see your question on that board, that is the place to ask it.

Thanks for entering the 2011 National Homebrew Competition!  Good luck in the competition!

Cheers,

Thanks for the info everyone.

Feedback is exactly what I'm looking for so I'm glad to hear the sheet gets mailed to me.
