It's Baseball Season!
« on: March 31, 2011, 01:39:32 am »
It's Baseball Season again!  Woo hoo!  I love this time of year.  I'm a Marlins fan and a Cubbies fan, but mostly listen to the Giants on the radio here in Hawaii (that's who's on on broadcast radio here).  I love listening to the games.  I can take them with me pretty much anywhere I go.  Yeah baby!

Play Ball!

Opening Day is bittersweet for me this year: longtime Cubs radio commentator Ron Santo passed away in January. He was a big time homer but he was also genuinely excited every day at the park and you could hear it in his voice. Hot summer nights on the back porch with a homebrewed wit and the Cubs on the radio won't be the same.
It's such a fine line between stupid and clever.

The worst is how he got gypped out of the HoF.

Still, Len Kasper and Bob Branley have a nice presence in the booth.

Time to finish what they started last year. Serving homebrew at the Saturday tailgate. Gonna be some rowdy fools Saturday night making sure those idiot Boston fans feel loved.... ;D

This will be my third year of season tix. Directly behind homeplate, first row of the upperdeck. Best seats in the house if you ask me. Beer stand with Shiner and a BBQ stand just outside my section.

Solid third baseman too.  Seemed like a standup guy.  RIP.
