Signed 'Souvineer' Bottles - Save forever or drink at some point?
« on: September 29, 2011, 07:38:32 am »
I have a few bottles I've collected over the last few years that are signed by the brewer and/or someone else with or connected to the brewery.

What do you guys do with bottles like this?  Do you save them forever - never opening them.  Or do you drink them at some point & then still save the empty, signed bottle?  I'm not sure if I should drink mine at some point or save 'em.

I say drink them.  The brewer would hate to find out he has beer out there just going to ****.  Plus, this rings of my past fascination with baseball cards so I would end up looking for a plastic sleeve that would fit a bottle just like people do with signed baseball cards.

I guess it depends on what it is - if its a rarity that you might not be able to replace, then yeah, I'd drink it and then clean very good and save the empty.

If its something you can replace easily - maybe not then.  However, I have seen corrosion of caps over many years which may not be attractive to you.

In most cases, the beer isn't going to be worth anything after a year or two anyways...

OK then.  I'll have to schedule an event with some friends & drink these bad boys.  :)
