Thumbs up to 3463 Forbidden Fruit
« on: April 07, 2011, 03:07:48 pm »
New to the AHA forums so wanted to stop by, say hi, and throw this out there.

Just finished up a Wit using 3463 and was pretty impressed.  Not as rabid as 3711 but
finished as quickly (a little over 24 hours) with no starter.  Just popped the pack and let it sit
for a day.  OG was 1.046 and finished out at 1.008.
Semi-dry, slight to moderate tartness, and is so far showing the orange peel and spices well.  Great yeast.
Will use again.
Good luck to all those in competition!

I like that yeast for wits too, but it seems few other homebrewers do.
I recently brewed a wit with T-58 and was very pleasantly surprised. Not quite the same as the liquids, but very close. If you ever can't get ahold of the Wyeast strain you want, it's a good way to go.
