Nothing this week, but I am debating between a pale ale or an amber lager (American type a la SA) for my birthday brew next week.  The only session beer I have is a Belgian pale ale, so I'm thinking I need to have another one kicking around for the not so distant future.

Munich Helles.  I make it every year around this time.  I'm also going to brew an APA that I'll put on nitro in a few weeks.

Brewed my first AG batch yesterday, a holday brown ale. All went fairly well and the airlock is going strong after 20 hours. Learning the temperature attributes of my mash tun will take many more batches. Time will tell. Brew well all.

ESB
Black Bitter

Got a Blueberry Wheat Ale going for me right now - plan on brewing an IPA this weekend.  Will be my second time using partial mash technique.  Cheers!

I'll be brewing 10 gallons of an APA.  Low end of the style gravity wise, but off the chart hop wise.  I'm using 30 lbs of Maris Otter and a lb of CaraMunich for the mash, then FWH with either Centennial or homegrown Cascade, small bittering addition of ___ (Columbus, Magnum?) then load up on Centennial and Cascade at flameout with a keghop addition of Columbus.  Half of this is hopefully going to be on tap for NewYears, so I'll be pushing it.  Going for BIG hop flavor and aroma on this but keeping it low gravity and bitterness for drinkability.
On Tap: IPA, Amber, Emma's Brown, Barleywine
Fermenting/Conditioning: Sour project, Bourbon barrel Barleywine, Kit IPA

A Northern German Pilsner in the Jever way of hopping, 45-50 IBU's.  Pilsner malt.  WLP-830, ferment at 50F.  Might decoct this one.

No brewing this weekend - all my ferm space is taken up for the next 1-2 weeks or so.

Jever way of hopping, 45-50 IBU's.

please explain.

I'm using 30 lbs of Maris Otter and a lb of CaraMunich for the mash

how low is your efficiency?? I use less grain than that for 12gal of my 1.064 IPA, either that or your definition of low gravity is about the same as bonjours!

10 gallons of Denny's Rye IPA and 10 gallons of Jamil's Bo-Pils on Sunday with my new system.  Double-batch brewday planned and I don't even know how to use the darn thing yet, I must be crazy!  ;D

Hey Keith, I thought a bitter was a starter for the IPA. ;)

Jever is a Northern German Pilsner that has (had) a high bitterness, in the 45 IBU range.  The 'had' is that the last one I drank in Germany seemed to have lost 5 to 10 IBU's.  So just lots of bittering hops to a high IBU number is what I was meaning, and Tettnanger was reported to be the bittering hop.

Ha! Actually, I am using US-05 for the IPA and growing yeast for some other english style beer with the bitter. Running low on hoppy beer - I need me some hops ASAP!! Unfortunately it is pouring down rain right now and I have been sick so not sure if I feel like barttling the rain to brew today and if I don't brew today it will be after Christmas until I can brew again.  :-[
