NY Bar Exam Success!
« on: April 29, 2011, 03:57:18 am »
I found out Tuesday that I passed the New York bar exam on my second try. Hooray! I celebrated with much fine beer, including my 2009 bottle of Westvleteren 12. Now I am set to take the CA bar exam this July - unless any of you guys want to hire me to work in NYC, that is...

I thought about taking the bar exam once, then I found out it was about the law...not exactly what I thought  :D

Congratulations!!  Maybe take the AL bar exam, and sue those $%^$% for not passing the homebrew legislation!

Right-on Skyler,  congratulations!  It feels good when all that hard work pays off, ay?  Now that you know how to do it, California is a lock.

Congratulations!

Having passed the NY and CA bar exams myself, I think you will find CA to be the easier of the two (despite the fact that it is one day longer).  Compared to NY, the CA exam covers less subjects, does not include any state specific multiple choice, and the performance tests are pretty straightforward.

Best of luck.

Well, I was thinking of going to work with my friend and his Dad, who do a little of everything... But I would like to narrow my practice to tax, bankruptcy, and estate planning - like one-stop-shopping for rich old people. However, I had wanted to be a prosecutor in law school (turns out just about every state is too poor to hire new ADA's these days), so I do know enough criminal law that I could take the odd criminal case if need be.
