I use Beersmith and love it. I've tried Promash and prefer Beersmith. I think it's easier to use and has better options. JM2CW.

My preference is currently for BeerSmith.  Gives me all the ingredients I normally use, where ProMash doesn't.  I believe ProMash hasn't been updated for a little while.

There are demos for each that I tried before purchasing.  You may want to look into that.  I chose Beersmith.  I liked the interface better.

I use ProMash but there is a lot of people who have only good things to say about BeerSmith.

I've used both, but purchased Beersmith.  I'm used to using it and the more you dig into it, the more versatile it is.

At this point in time the answer to that would seem to be 'no'.

There is still support forum that is attended from time to time but I do not think it is in development any more.

It is a shame, but that's how life goes.  Jeff has more important things to attend to, which is unfortunate not only for us, but especially for him.

I do understand that family is more important than anything else.
I am not saying anything about it.

He wrote it as a one man band software company and he has all rights to keep it closed source is he chose to do so.
It is very good piece of software.
If unmaintained it will slowly die and all the happy ProMash users will have to find something else.

I didn't mean to say that you weren't sympathetic to his problems.  Sorry if I implied otherwise.  Yeah, I agree that it will slowly "die", but I don't think that means that it's usefulness will die, too.  Even though there hasn't been a major upgrade in years, I still find that I can do everything I want to do with Promash.
