Going to Antiques Roadshow!
« on: May 12, 2011, 03:28:06 pm »
Antiques Roadshow is coming to Eugene.  They have a lottery for tickets.  I applied a few months back and just found out I won 2!  My wife is taking a 1st ed. of Alice in Wonderland.  I'm taking a Royal Doulton beer pitcher and (one of 6) mug that's been in my family since before 1899.  It's a classic Royal Doulton design "Dr. Johnson at the Chesire Cheese".  I've seen the design on plates but never on a pitcher and mugs before.  I'm stoked!

Cool Denny, can you post pics of the items?  So I know what to take when I come visit? ;)

My local newspaper wants pics, too, so I'll post them here after I take them.  I've actually got another few really nice antique bier steins and mugs, thanks to a generous BIL.  I'll try to get pics of them all and then start a new thread where everybody can post theirs, too.

Awesome.  Love that show. I typically don't watch TV but that's one I will watch.
Good Luck!  :)

Maybe you should bring the '76 Vee Dub.

Maybe you should bring the '76 Vee Dub.

They specifically say "No cars".  Plus I'd have to tow it 35 miles into town.  ;)

Wish I lived closer denny I would love to take that bus off your hands. I've owned a ton of bugs but never a bus, always wanted one. My wife and I stop and look at everyone we see. Got any picts?

This is all I've got...you can kinda see the curtains in the back window.  When my wife got it, she installed a fold down rear seat bed so she could go camping.
