I actually make them quite often. In fact, even planned on doing a batch this weekend. They are so good cold, with an IPA!  8)

You don't have to swallow all of the whisky you taste.

But you can, right?

If I ever go, I'll be hitting the Lagavulin distillery.  That one's my favourite.
My family got run out of Scotland a couple centuries or so ago...something about improper relations with sheep or something.  I wonder if I can get my family castle back?

Hell yeah!  Swallow away.   Saw a funny bumper sticker once, "Mean people suck.  Nice people swallow."  Do you suppose they were talking about Scotch?

You seem a bit sheepish to be asking for castle...   ;D

I'd heard the reason that Scots don't have zippers in their kilts is because they don't want the noise when their sneaking up on the sheep......

but all that aside, Lagavulin is a great whisky. Love the distillers edition.

Isn't there something about wearing rubber boots in there too?

+1 to the "Friend of laphroaig" thing. Also you should try a scotch egg. Weaz, surely you've heard of it?

Take a hard boiled egg
wrap it in sausage
bread it
deep fry it
die a few years earlier

I'm sure you could do a more hard-core version and wrap the sausage in a bacon weave before frying.

I Love a good Scotch egg.  I made some earlier this year with a 'twist'.  Instead of chicken eggs and pork sausage.  I used quail eggs and fresh ground (food processored) chicken (with honey-mustard dipping sauce):

Woah, that looks amazing. We had talked about doing the quail egg versions for hors-d'oeuvres - I like the chicken sausage idea, sounds healthier.
