I'm sitting here on this Memorial Day thinking of my Uncle Larry, whom I never knew.  My uncle, Lawrence Edward Saxer, died in World War II, at the Battle of Guadalcanal, on November 13, 1942.  My Uncle Larry served aboard the USS Juneau CL-52.

Thank you for your service, and sacrifice Uncle Larry.  I wish I could have grown up knowing you.  Dad says you were a great big brother.
There is only one success: to be able to spend your life in your own way.
