Crystal, huh?  I wouldn't have guessed crystal was used in a roggenbier recipe, but you know how familiar I am with anything that includes wheat!  ;)

Brewing a clone of Bell's Two-Hearted Ale this Monday. Hoping to get in a little "research" this weekend too!

No brewing for me this weekend. I'll make this more of a drinking weekend. Which means.....I'll have to do some brewing next weekend to catch up and replenish my supply! :)

Moving the Kolsch from the conical to cornies for more lagering and making a yeast starter tonight. I put some finings in the Kolsch last Saturday to clear it up. I think it's going to be a pretty good beer. Even without carbonation it tastes very clean and crisp (trying to do a better job of evaluating my beers as I read Gordon's book).

Then I will be brewing a Czech Pils either Sunday or Monday whenever the inlaws leave.

Have a fun, safe weekend fellow brewers!!.

Moving 15 gallons of beer around to other fermenters and kegs, dry-hopping a hopfenweisse, and brewing a berliner weisse if everything works out like it should.  Trying out my new BeerSmith program.  Plus a lot of yard work - it'll be nice to have Monday off.

Trying to get back into the hobby this weekend by cleaning out the canning/brewing room so I can take stock in what I have and what I need.

Yeah, crystal rye probably isn't to style, but I won a pound of the stuff, and need to figure what to do with it.  Since I've never had a roggenbier, style doesn't mean too much to me, anyway.  ;)

10-gallon batch of a Pliny clone with a few modifications... Simcoe hops stay, but I'm subbing out the other hops for Nelson Sauvin and Amarillo, and using a bottle-cultivated Bell's yeast. Maybe. Depends on how it propogates up. I may just have everybody dump their Pliny dregs into the beer ;-)

No brewing, but lots of sharing. We'll have family visiting all weekend to see the baby. Knowing my family, it means I'll be cleaning emptied kegs at the end of the weekend.

Brisket, chicken, and ribs.  Oh, brewing you say, that saison that I was supposed to do last weekend will be done this weekend, dang it! ;)

400 batches? Done any good ones yet? :P
:D  Got a good laugh from dat one!

This is the first weekend of summer for those who live north of the Mason-Dixon Line (I was gonna say yankees, but though better of it).  That's cause for homebrewing.

Have a good friend here visiting.  He wants to do the climb to Mokuaweoweo (Mauna Loa's summit cauldera at 13,677ft.). If the weather looks good we'll be doing that.  It's not Everest, but it's a bit of a challenge.

The lehua nectar flow is rockin now too.  Might be extracting some lehua honey this weekend.

And then there's Phil's streaming brew session live from France on Saturday night (Hawaiian time)...

There is only one success: to be able to spend your life in your own way.

No brewing for me - just kegging my latest IPA & getting my Oktoberfest in a keg to start lagering...

BBQ time!  :)

Denny's Rye IPA

Denny- If I'm doing a 10 gallon batch, should I just double all amounts for your recipe? If so, would you recommend adding rice hulls for a slotted pipe drain?

No brewing this weekend, just drinking.

Made a batch of peach melomel last night, so I'll be keeping an eye on that.
