Weaz, here is the Pump & Chiller Stool I built
« on: May 31, 2011, 08:51:44 pm »
This build was inspired by Scott's rig at the Brew Brothers BigBrew event in Portland, Oregon.  I used it this weekend to chill my second AG batch of Denny's Rye IPA. Worked like a champ!

All you have to do is copy the URL from the "Download" link at Flickr and enclose it in img tags. So:

Do you have any more pics?  I'm having trouble figuring out what I'm looking at.  I see a pump, chiller, and switch . . . on a footstool?

That's pretty much it Tom, plus a thermometer and a couple of ball valves.  The first valve down stream of pump let's me vent off air from the hose to help prime the pump. I need to shorten the hose from the pump to the chiller. It's compact, light and easy to move and separate the chiller for cleaning and sanitizing. One thing I really like is that the pump is elevated with the ports at the low point so any drippage just hits the floor and not any equipment.  I put a portable GFCI plug at the outlet for extra safety.

Do you have a link to any or all of the parts used?

I'm currently in "dead week" before finals and working full time so it will be next week before I'm able to put it together in a meaningful way, but I will.

Dude! that is sweet! Really ingenious idea. Think I will be stealing parts of it when the time comes. Thanks!
