my dog came out of the stream at the dog park the other day and a lady said "you must not have a very nice car to let your dog get dirty and wet like that".  I replied "maybe not, but i have a very nice dog"

I would be torn to choose between these responses:
A. "And you must not have very good manners to poke your nose in other people's business like that."
B. "I already have one mother-in-law, and you're not her."
Or C:"Nah! I usually just tie him to the roof rack.  He's usually dry by the time we get home!

+100 That would have been perfect.

oh to have such a quick wit.

This is my buddy Mason.  Yes, he's pretty big - 22 lbs (10 kilos).  His nicknames are "Big Guy" and "10-K"

When I showed the picture of Mason to my wife, she wondered how somebody had a picture of our Corkie (even the pattern of her favorite chair is almost the same!):

Then again, Corkie is about 1/2 the size of Mason, but I thought they looked really similar.

We have a total of 6 cats - Corkie, Kelly, Kerry, Kegger, Captain Jack and Blackbeard, plus a crazy dog named Simcoe who loves to chase cats.  Here is Simcoe pretty much sitting on Kerry:

Sorry, man. Today's the day when I go and pick up my buddy's cremains so that I can plant them with his new tree.

Sorry for the loss.  Man, it seems like a lot of pets are dying.  Maybe it's just a function of the number of people here with pets.

My next pet is going to be a tortoise, I can't deal with the loss anymore. I want one that will outlive me.

Good people are animal people. Good beer people are good people. Therefore there's a super high concentration on here.
