I was watching the news and the weatherman said a word I haven't heard in a while... El Nino.  Is this year an El Nino year?  If it is then the next few years ought to bring in some warm weather.

I did a little searching and it appears this is the start of El Nino year(s).  I guess the floods in Peru should have been a clue for us all.

Just in case anyone's curious, "el niño" is actually Spanish for "the niño".

Yep, it's an El Nino year.  we're feeling the effects of it in the PNW.
