Toasted buckwheat
« on: July 22, 2011, 09:13:59 am »
Has anyone tried using toasted buckwheat (store bought) in the mash just for flavor? I am striking out finding raw buckwheat to malt or torrefied buckwheat to buy. I am not worried about GF or efficiency of the extract, I simply want the flavor.
Thanks

do you have a healthfood store or coop in your neighborhood? (or a spelling coach ::))

anyway, can't see why toasted would be bad. It would be different as toasting tends to bring out the nutty flavour in grains.
