Have you considered keeping aquariums?   ;)

Cats that live in the trees.... yes theres a story behind it

close up of Tabby, still trying to get a better pic showing her ear-tuffs.

Theres 1 more cat "Leo" but no pics yet, the reason the cats live in the trees is the 90lb <edit>Pitbull<edit> that has killed 9 kittens next door and another cat from our other neighbour. The little orange kitten in the 1st pic is the only survivor along with the mom-2nd pic.

We have been trying to trap the cats but the things won't go into the trap,  I've already  repaired the entire fence( .78mile) hoping to keep the dog out. But thursday night dog ripped the barbed wire open and paid a visit and the cats dissappered till this moring, just as I mashed-in  I saw the orange guy run up the tree. 8)

So monday I'll be replacing the entire fence and making a few phones calls re:dog,  this dog is mean and I've already shot him many times in the face with mace/pepper spray but he keeps coming back.

I think we all know what the next step is if the dog catcher doesn't resolve this problem....

Let me practice some Dutch ;)

Nee, hij is de hond van mijn buur.  Mijn niet.

Hope that is correct. ;D

No guys even though it would be within my rights to do something bad to the dog I wouldn't, but I will trap him myself & take him to the pound.

Boy tough crowd ;)

Acute lead poisoning?

My first thought was a visit to the COOP for some meat packet warfran rat poison.  A small amount won't kill him but he will walk sideways from that point on.

We had a very sweet little dog out on the farm that we just couldn't break her of digging the stuff out and eating it.  It finally killed her but she kept going back.

My cat & I didn't get along very well.
He moved out & I never heard from him, again.
That end to the relationship turned out for the best.

My first kitten (jet-black and named Freddy Kreuger) I stepped on him in the dark and thus weakened came down with distemper while hiding under the bathroom sink. I had him put to sleep. My second cat I also raised from a kitten, but full grown clawed my nose so badly I had to go to the emergency room. That ended our relationship though I was sad to see her go. Should have named her Freddy Kreuger instead. ;D

It's good to have cats when you have land for them to roam and hunt.  Haven't seen a live rodent here in years.

Land for them to roam and hunt where there are no predators of the cats.  Outdoor cats don't last too long in my neighborhood.  One of my neighbors was just telling me that for a long time her daughter didn't know that cats lived more than 2 years. :-\  They don't keep cats anymore.

We have lots of feral and semi-feral cats around here. Though not so many this summer with the drought. And I think the hawks and eagles get them even here in the city. Got an awful suspicion that's where a lot of "lost" pets end up.
