any ideas on cleaning a keg with a d system coupler without getting into expensive keg washers?

I've heard of guys buying a cheap bilge pump (Harbor Freight has a few that work well), putting it inside a 5 gallon bucket with hot PBW and then running some pvc pipe from the pump through the center of a corney keg opening to spray it with cleaner.  You'd need to modify a bucket lid by cutting a hole in the middle wide enough for the pvc to stick into the keg and for the keg to drain but narrow enough to hold the keg on the lid.  Hopefully a few will chime in with pics and/or procedures.
