Online Registration for the Cincinnati Malt Infusers 2011 Oktobersbest Homebrew Competition is NOW OPEN!

We've got a great competition in store for you! Our annual competition which was founded over a decade ago has grown into a very nice event. This competition is for ALL BJCP recognized styles, including meads and ciders (Cider and Mead will be awarded, but do not qualify for BOS). We also offer a special "Best of Fest" award for the best Oktoberfest/Marzen/Vienna
Category 3A and 3B entries!

As part of the prize for our Best of Show Winner, they will be able to professionally brew their winning recipe and have it featured at the 5th Annual Cincy Winter Beerfest on February 10th & 11th 2012 as the Official Beer of Cincy Winter Beerfest! More than 10,000 are expected for this years premiere craft beer event at Cincinnati's Duke Energy Convention Center! Included in your prize is two-nights of accommodations at the downtown Hyatt-Regency.  You'll get free entrance to the event, and get the opportunity to sample more than 300 great craft beers, as well as talk to patrons about your special creation. You'll get to keep a 1/2 barrel of the professional version of your BOS recipe. From the Cincy Winter Beerfest, your winning beer will advance to the 2012 Pro-AM Competition at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver, Colorado!

We are also looking for judges and stewards for this year's Oktobersbest being held at the Radisson! This beautiful venue overlooks the Ohio River and the Cincinnati skyline. A complementary continental breakfast will be provided to judges, stewards, and other volunteers. A complementary lunch will also be served in the 360 revolving restaurant atop of the Radisson.

Gordon Strong, three time-winner of the National Homebrew Competition Ninkasi Award will be our guest speaker. Gordon is also the President of and the highest ranking judge in the Beer Judge Certification Program, as well as the principal author of the BJCP Style Guidelines and the BJCP Mead Exam Study Guide. Gordon is the technical editor of Zymurgy, and often a contributor to other brewing and beer publications. He will be signing copies of his new book, "Brewing Better Beer" on the day of the competition.

We will also have a  Pub Crawl (complete with shuttle!) through Covington, KY, after judging is complete. We will arrive back at the hotel in time for awards presentation and raffle drawings for our incredible array of prizes!

We have arranged for a substantial discount off the Radisson's normal nightly rate so you will find it easier to arrive the day before and stay overnight if you wish. You will also be able to stay safely the night of our competition and enjoy some great Malt Infuser Hospitality and camaraderie with your fellow homebrewers. This will also give you the opportunity to explore the wide array of things to do around Cincinnati the next day. To get our discounted rate, just mention/note "Oktobersbest" or "Cincinnati Malt Infusers" when making reservations. You may make your hotel reservations by calling
