The Montana Experience
« on: July 25, 2011, 12:04:42 am »
My family and I recently went to the North western part of Montana, Flat head to be exact.  I found two breweries that I would like to share.  Flat Head Lake brewery was a great find.  Not only was it 4 miles from where I was staying it had a great selection of beers.  I am a hop head and would recommend the Imperial IPA and their pale ale.  Very full flavored and smooth finish.  Heavy on the hops as well.  There amber was one of the darkest and richest ambers I have tried.  Very flavorful.
The 2nd place was Tamarack brewing Co.  They had a very large selection however only would recommend a couple.  They have a wit beer that was worth trying,  light crisp and easy to drink.  The real winner here is Rye Sally Rye.  Probably the best rye beer that I have had.  I recently have fallen in love with ryes and this one is at the top.  It is a IPA version.  If your in the area I would make a trip for the rye.
