Newsweek is dying a slow death, from what I can tell, so they're doing anything they can to get attention. Witness the cover from awhile back that had a photoshopped princess Di walking with Kate Middleton. They are getting attention, but I doubt they're selling more magazines.

To be fair, they needed a picture that went with the caption "The Queen of Rage".  Maybe she shouldn't be so angry that judges are telling children to try homosexuality.

I thought the same thing about that picture when I first saw it.  It seems strange  but the more pictures of her I see (I'm in Iowa so lots of political press right now with the Ames Straw Poll this weekend) that seems to be one of her standard looks.  I not attacking her personally, all the candidates scare me right now.

Perhaps, seeing such a large decline in their circulation numbers, they have decided to transition from hard news to satire, to compete with the likes of National Lampoon and Mad Magazine.  If so, they should say so, and change the name of their magazine to Newsweak.

It seems to me like you're projecting your own biases rather then accepting it for what it is.
