:D

The last time I went there (as in never again),
it was with my homebrewing brother.

The ultracool hipster California cuisine waiter says "whaddya have"
My brothers mulls a second and says "I'll try your Cream Ale"
Ultracool hipster California cuisine waiter says, "BMC drinker aye?" ::)

Yep, not only the attitude and service, but the beers all stink.
Never Again.

Funny.  I've told them more than once, that for a dishwasher’s wage I'd help them clean up the brewery and design a better menu.  I know a microbiologist who offered his services for free and they refused.  Once I heard the owner explain that they were brewing in the “European” style and that some people just didn’t get it, he followed that with “we’re not about to change anything.”  What an insult to European brewers, it’s a good thing they haven’t heard.

I know he likes the completely flat beers that they've always served.  I'd love to talk them into serving all their beers (with major tweaks) on cask.  I think it could be one of the coolest breweries in the entire region...oh and a new menu.

Sorry, not trying to dominate this thread

The only beer I've had that i would describe as truly vile is Brau Brothers Scotch Ale. Had it at a tasting event a few summers ago. It was the only beer I had to spit out that day. They must have used 50% peated malt in the stuff. It tasted like an ashtray!

There are certainly beers I don't care for, but not many for which I would say "never again." I generally avoid fruit beers or beers with other flavor additives like herbs and spices, the exception being certain Belgian styles.

guess i'm on a different page than you, i loved that beer. of course i like peat malt

A beer called mephistopheles stout, out of Avery I think.

It tasted like a mix of 4 day old coffe and used motor oil and 16% abv.  It was the most fowl thing I have every ingested.  If there was a such a thing as a beer monster.  A big bad burly monster made of beer, and one morning he got up and took a dump, I believe it would taste like that.
have you tried this on tap? i thought it was really good. even bought a bottle and am aging it. bought it in january 08.

I have to throw yet another vote on the SA triple bock. I just glad that I didn't pay for it. (I did keep the cool blue bottle though.) The Magic Hat variety pack took me longer to drink than any other case I ever bought so will  not get again. While I hated Troegs' Javahead Stout, my best friend thought it was incredible. And of course there's the usual list of cheap, american, pisswater, canoe beers.

National Bohemian.  I would totally boil crabs in this stuff.  Never drinking it, tastes like fizzy piss.

To me shandies and radlers are not necessarily bad, but should be mixed fresh!  Premixed beer and lemonade in a bottle sounds more like a malt cooler...not something very appealing.

OH I agree that shandies can be better.  I am living in England and until I moved here, I had never heard of one.  I don't drink them but what I had that day was the bottom of the barrel.

Same here...I can live without chile beers, but Hop Stoopid and all versions of Delerium are beers I really enjoy.

Another one. not because it's bad but it's just too over the top for me

Mikkeller 1000IBU

Once you get past the ridiculous amounts of hops the malt balance is actually kind of nice but I can't see ever buying it again or really drinking it again. Just to much

Another + to the nastiness of chile beers.  The one and only time I've had one, I had to for-thought to take sausages out for supper.  Two sips in I had enough and poured the rest of the glass in the pot with the sausages - damned tasty sausages though!

Molson 'M' - wtf is 'micro-carbonated'? - at the launch, you only had to pay the deposit and got a free can - it got poured down the drain after 5 minutes.

Different strokes, I guess... I can't wait for fall and my Chipotle Porter.

Edit: Of course, I'm also putting the chile'd and non-chile'd batched on tap side by side so that people can blend to their tastes.

Chili beers can be interesting but I never want more than one of them, personally.

I think my Poblano Witbier is nearly perfect as a lawnmower beer.  I can drink a couple pints easy on a hot day.  AND it's good in steamed mussels.
