Crushed Grain
« on: August 22, 2011, 10:25:31 am »
I am looking to save a bit of time for my next weekends brew session....my question is "how long will crushed grain still be useable". It will be covered in an airtight container.  It will only be a week before I use it, but have never crushed grain and not used it right away?
Thank's in advance for any input.

You should be fine for a couple of weeks if it is properly stored in an air-tight container. I would not go beyond that though as the staling effects(oxidation) may become more evident. I wouldn't store crushed grain for more than a  couple of months even if stored in an air-tight container as it will start to lose it's freshness.

Agreed, you'll be fine for a couple of weeks, no problem.
